HIMACHAL PRADESH BY AIR
There are three airports in the state of Himachal Pradesh. They are at Bhunter (10 km from Kullu), Gaggal(10 kms short of Dharmsala) and Jubbarhatti (22 km from Shimla). The air routes connect the state with Delhi and Chandigarh. There are no international airports in Himachal Pradesh. King Fisher, Indian Airline, MDLR and Jagson Airlines connect Shimla Kullu, Dharmsala with Delhi.
HIMACHAL PRADESH BY RAIL
Himachal Pradesh is not very well connected by railways as it is not easy to construct railway lines in the high altitude and rugged terrain. The Pathankot-Jogindernagar line is the longest railway line connecting Punjab with Himachal Pradesh. The other railway tracks pass through Shimla, Solan and Una. Shimla is connected with Kalka by a narrow gauge railway line, which in turn is connected with the major cities in India.
HIMACHAL PRADESH BY ROAD
Most of the important places of Himachal Pradesh are well connected with the roadways. Regular bus services connect Shimla, Manali and Dharmsala and other major tourist places with Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Amritsar and Jammu. Now Volvo AC semi sleeper coaches are also available from Delhi to Manali, Shimla and Dharmsala. Taxis are the major travel source here. Vehicles like innova, tavera, quails, sumo, indica and alto cars are easily available.
