Day 01
|
We pick you up from the Bus Station, Railway Station or the airport at Jubbarhatti. Drive to your hotel. Your entire day is free to explore the exciting and famous Mall Road. There are posh shops selling all kinds of merchandise, excellent restaurants serving fine cuisine. Our guide shows you all the main points here. By evening return to your hotel.

Day 02
|
Today we drive you or if you prefer you can also walk up to the stately and old Viceregal Lodge, which now houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. This huge building has beautifully landscaped gardens and we take on a tour inside the building. Later we visit the state museum close by. Return to the Mall for a sumptuous lunch at a good restaurant. In the afternoon we drive you up to the Jhakoo Temple, which has fine views of Shimla town. We go on further to the small suburb of Sanjauli and return to Shimla. Spend some time here walking around the shady paths. In the evening you can go shopping in the Mall for local handicrafts. We suggest Lakkar Bazaar (wood market) for some exquisite wood work. Later in the evening return to your hotel for a relaxed time.

Day 03
|
Drive through the fascinating Himalayan countryside to the hill resort of Manali. We arrive by evening and check into your hotel. Relax.

Day 04
|
We take you to visit the 500-year-old Hadimba Devi temple in a dense forest of giant Deodars. From here get exciting views of Manali town. Later we visit the Buddhist Monastery known for its exquisite paintings and giant gilded Buddha. You are free in the evening to walk around the Mall Road with its fine restaurants and shops full of local handicrafts, shawls and other artefacts. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 05
|
Today we drive you to the Snow Point (Rohtang Pass in May through September) where you can enjoy yourself walking and playing in the snow. Take a snow scooter ride and try out a bit of skiing. After lunch we return to Manali via the hot Sulphur springs of Vashisht village where you can take a rejuvenating dip in the steaming waters. Evening free to wander around the bazaar or just relax in your hotel.

Day 06
|
We drive through the bustling town of Mandi and crossing the Uhl river get on to the main Pathankot highway. We reach Dharamshala by evening. Check into your hotel.

Day 07
|
We take you around the lively bazaar with its many shops selling local handicrafts. Visit the Kangra Art Museum, which offers you glimpses of rare artefacts that date back to the 5th century and then visit the War Memorial with its beautiful park and landscaped surroundings. Evening return to your hotel.

Day 08
|
Drive to the lively thriving town of Macleodgunj set upon a mountain ridge surrounded by luxuriant conifer forests. En-route stop over at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness one of the oldest cathedrals in north India built in 1852. It also has the grave of Lord Elgin a viceroy of British India. Once you reach Macleodgunj, it almost seems you’ve stepped into Tibet. Visit the Namgyal Monastery or Tsuglagkhang - Dalai Lama’s Temple. This houses massive statues of Buddha and the Dalai Lama often preaches or leads prayers here. Stroll through the lively bazaar where you’ll find monks and foreigners strolling and a number of interesting shops and bazaars. Evening return to your hotel in upper Dharamshala.

|
We drive you to the Bus Stand or the Airport at Gaggal for your journey back home.
